灭《佛学大辞典》
(术语)有三种:一涅槃,译为灭。涅槃之体,无为寂灭。故名灭。大乘义章二曰:“涅槃,无为恬泊,名灭。”二尼弥留陀,尼楼陀Nirodha,译为灭。四谛中之灭谛也,涅槃之灭,偏据满处。尼弥留陀之灭,通于因果。大乘义章一曰:“涅槃之灭偏据满处,尼弥留陀灭义通因果,是故灭谛有灭皆收。”贤愚经十二曰:“豆佉,三牟提耶。尼楼陀,末伽。晋言苦集灭道。”三毗尼,译为灭,是戒行也。戒行能灭诸恶,故曰灭。前二者体是灭,毗尼之灭,有所灭也。大乘义章一曰:“若论毗尼,体非是灭,有为行德,能有所灭,故名为灭。又能证寂灭之果,故说为灭。”梵语杂名曰:“灭,尾娜舍。”俱舍论光记五曰:“能灭彼现法用,灭入过去,故名为灭。”

灭受想定《佛学大辞典》
(术语)灭尽定之异名。使六识之心心所都灭而不起,故名为灭尽定。然其加行方便,特厌受之心所与想之心所二法而务灭之。故从加行而名为灭受想定。唯识论七曰:“由偏厌受想亦名灭彼定。”同述记七本曰:“彼心心所灭,名灭定。恒行染污心等灭故,即此亦名灭受想定。”

灭尽定《佛学大辞典》
(术语)梵语Nirodhasamāpatti,又名灭受想定。二无心定之一。灭尽六识心心所而不使起之禅定也。不还果已上之圣者,为假入涅槃之想而入于此定,极长者为七日,属于非想天,外道所入之无心定,名为无想定。属于第四禅。俱舍论五曰:“如说复有别法,能令心心所灭,名无想定。如是复有别法,能令心心所灭,名灭尽定。”大乘义章二曰:“灭尽定者,谓诸圣人患心劳虑,暂灭心识。得一有为非色心法,领补心处,名灭尽定。”同九曰:“灭受想者,偏对受想二阴彰名。想绝受亡,名灭受想。灭尽定者,通对一切心心数法以彰名也。心及心法一切俱亡,名为灭尽。”
灭度《佛学大辞典》
(术语)梵语Nirvāna,巴Nibbāna之译,有有余无余之二(见“涅槃”条),故皆指命终证果。无量寿经上曰:“国中天人不住定聚,必至灭度者,不取正觉。”法华经序品曰:“佛此夜灭度如薪火灭。”遗教经曰:“世尊灭度,一何疾哉。”涅槃经二十九曰:“灭生死故,名为灭度。”肇论曰:“灭度者,言其大患永灭,超度四流。”行愿品钞四曰:“言涅槃者,具云般涅槃那,古译为入灭息。息即是灭故,但云入灭,或云灭度,即灭障度苦也。”
灭恶趣《佛学大辞典》
(菩萨)胎藏界除盖障院之上第二位。密号曰除障金刚。以破灭三恶趣为本誓,与地藏同。又名破恶趣,除恶趣。菩萨形,白黄色,左手屈中指,附于大指,伸余指,当胸。右手为与愿,坐于赤莲。
灭憎爱三昧《佛学大辞典》
(术语)百八三昧之一。智度论四十七曰:“灭憎爱三昧者,得是三昧。以喜法中不生爱,可恶法中不生瞋。”
灭摈《佛学大辞典》
(术语)律中科罪之名。比丘犯重罪而无悔心者,灭僧籍而摈斥之也。行事钞上一之四曰:“灭摈者,谓犯重已举至僧中,白四除弃也。”同上二之二曰:“言灭摈者,谓犯重比丘,心无惭愧,不敢学悔,妄入清众,滥居僧限。当三根五德举来,诣僧忆念示罪,令自言已举白四法。”释氏要览下曰:“弥沙塞云:梵罚此有二法:一默摈,谓一切人不与来往言话等。二灭摈(灭即灭名也)。”
