玄一《佛学大辞典》
(人名)唐代人。乡贯未详。通法相学,以著述为事。着无量寿经记二卷,观无量寿经记一卷,法华经疏八卷,阿弥陀经疏一卷,涅槃经料简二卷,瑜伽论疏十七卷,中边论料简一卷,梵网经疏三卷,唯识枢要私记一卷等,多散佚不传。惟无量寿经记上卷一卷,收入日本续藏经。观其处处引用窥基元晓法位等,可知其出于诸师之后。
玄义《佛学大辞典》
(术语)幽玄之义理。深妙之义理。天台释诸经,先于文前绪论五重之深义,题为玄义。法华经玄义,金光明经玄义等是也。法华玄义十下曰:“我以五章略谭玄义,非能申文外之妙,特是粗述所怀。”金光明玄义拾遗记上曰:“玄谓幽微难见也,义谓理趣深有所以也,其幽微义而有五重。(中略)大师搜抉如是五义解释一题,欲令学者豫知经旨然后寻文,使于文文成智行故。斯是道场,特因静发。称会佛旨,演兹奥旨。故不可以暗证者及寻文者同日而语也。幽微所以,岂虚名哉?”
玄义分《佛学大辞典》
(书名)唐善导作观无量寿经疏四卷,于经题之下谭一经之深义,称为玄义分。

玄奘《佛学大辞典》
(人名)唐大慈恩寺玄奘三藏,姓陈,偃师人,俗名袆。兄长捷,先出家,在洛阳净土寺。师十三岁,亦入净土寺出家,就慧景听涅槃经,于严法师受摄大乘论,令名夙着。武德元年,与兄共入长安,寻赴成都,就道基宝迁二师,学摄论,毗昙,就震法师听讲发智论,五年受具足戒,又习律部。既而往荆州讲摄论毗昙,往相州谒慧休,往赵州受成实于道深。寻入长安,就道岳学俱舍论。时有法常僧辩二大德,名冠上京,偏讲摄大乘论。师又就听之。然以诸师各异宗途,圣典亦有隐晦。不知适从。乃欲西游以明之。表请不许,师不为屈。贞观三年八月(一说贞观元年或贞观三年四月),上万里孤游之途。具尝艰苦,经西蕃诸国,贞观七年至印度。中途,于屈支国,会木叉鞠多,于缚喝国纳缚伽蓝,礼佛齿、佛澡盆等。从砾迦国僧般若羯罗,读毗婆沙论。于梵衍那国拜巨石像。至迦毕试国,安居沙落迦寺。与大乘僧秣奴若瞿沙,萨婆多部僧阿黎耶,伐摩等,共会法集。入印度境,至那揭罗曷国,拜燃灯授记之圣迹。又于佛顶骨城,礼佛顶骨及佛僧伽胝并瞿波罗龙王窟之佛影。入健驮逻国布路沙布逻城,见卑钵罗树下过去四佛坐处,并迦腻色迦王伽蓝等。赴乌仗那国,巡礼行菩萨千生施眼处,割截身体处,刺身饲五乐叉处等灵地,又于呾叉始罗等国,参拜菩萨舍千头处投身喂处等遗迹。至迦湿弥罗国,就僧称法师,学俱舍论,顺正理论,因明声明论等,兼与大乘学僧毗成陀僧诃等攻窍诸经论。至磔迦国,于长年婆罗门受百论,广百论等。于至那仆底国,就毗腻多钵腊婆学对法论,显宗论,理门论等。至阇烂达罗国,从旃达罗伐摩受众事分毗婆沙。至窣禄勤那国,就阇耶鞠多听经部毗婆沙。入秣底补罗国,就德光弟子蜜多斯那学辩真论,随发智论。至劫比他国,礼佛从天降下三道宝阶塔。至羯若鞠阇国,与毗离耶犀那读佛使毗婆沙。又经历钵逻耶伽等国,巡拜佛生处,佛涅槃处,佛转法轮处等诸圣迹。于吠多补罗城,得菩萨藏经。遂至摩揭陀国。于是诣菩提树下金刚座处,又礼耆阇崛出,竹林精舍等灵地,入那烂陀寺,以戒贤为师,学瑜伽论等。又听讲顺正理显扬对法等诸论,研钻梵书。后赴伊烂拏钵伐多国,与怛他揭多鞠多等共读毗婆沙等诸论。至憍萨罗国,就婆罗门受集量论。赴驮那羯磔迦国,从大众部僧苏部底等,学大众部根本阿毗达磨及大乘诸经论。至钵伐多国,从大德,学正量部根本阿毗达磨,摄正法论等。还摩揭陀国,至杖林山胜军论师所,学唯识决择论,意义理论,庄严经论等。师子光讲中百二论,破瑜伽之义。师乃和会中观瑜伽两宗,述会宗论三千颂。光惭赧退去。又遇顺世外道,师与之论难,亦伏之。且得乌荼国小乘论师所制之破大乘论七百颂,指摘其谬说,作破恶见论一千六百颂。戒日王敬师甚厚,为设大会,敕使诸国义解之徒,集于曲女城。师受请登床,专称扬大乘之论意,无一人能致言难者。寻与戒日王同赴钵罗耶伽国,列于五年大会。遂归国。贞观十九年至京师。以所获梵本六百五十七部献于朝。太宗使于弘福寺传译之。高宗永徽三年请于朝。于慈恩寺以西域之法建大塔。显庆四年,高宗以玉华宫为寺,荐先帝,使师居之。次年在此译大般若经。麟德元年二月,命弟子普光抄录所译之经论,凡七十五部一千三百三十五卷。其月五日寂,寿六十五。事迹详见大唐西域记、广弘明集、续高僧传卷四、大慈恩寺三藏法师传、佛祖通载十二等。

玄应《佛学大辞典》
(人名)唐京师沙门,颇精字义,造一切经音义。但无详细之纪传。续高僧传三十(智果传附)仅记曰:“京师沙门玄应者,亦以字学之富皂素所推,通造经音甚有科据矣。”

又(术语)幽玄之感应。与冥应冥加等同。

玄应意义《佛学大辞典》
(书名)二十五卷。唐释玄应撰。即一切经音义也。四库未收书目提要曰:“释智升开元释教录,称玄应以贞观之末,捃舍藏经,为之音义注释训解,援引群籍。证据卓明云云:案齐沙门释道惠,为一切经音义。宋高僧传云:唐释惠琳,为大藏音义一百卷。二书今皆不传。是编唐书艺文志著录,名众经音义。此从释藏本刊印,其中所引群籍,如郑康成尚书注,论语注,三家诗,贾逵服虔春秋传注,李巡孙炎尔雅注,以及仓颉三仓,葛洪字苑,字林声类,服虔通俗文,说文音隐,多不传之秘册。玄应通晓儒术,著书该博,惟昧汉人之通转假借。泥后代之等韵,是其所短也。”余见“一切经音义”条。
