目支邻陀《佛学大辞典》
(异类)Mucilinda,又作目脂邻陀,目真邻陀,目邻,母真邻那,母止邻那,文真邻陀。龙王名。译为解脱。闻法而脱龙苦,故名。住于金刚座侧之池中及目真邻陀山之目真邻陀窟。西域记八曰:“帝释化池东邻中有目支邻陀龙王池,其水清黑,其味甘味。西岸有小精舍,中作佛像,昔如来初成正觉,于此宴坐,七日入定。时此龙王警卫如来,即以其身绕佛七,化出多头俯垂为盖。”慧琳音义十二曰:“正音母止邻那,此云脱。”

(传说)佛涅槃之先,上足二弟子先涅槃者,三世诸佛之常法也。舍利弗目连既知佛将涅槃,夏坐竟将般涅槃。是时尊者大目犍连入罗阅城乞食,执杖梵志遥见目连来,各各相谓曰:此是沙门瞿昙弟子,彼弟子中无出此人上者,我等盍共围打杀之。诸梵志共围打之,烂尽,苦恼甚。是时目连以神通还祇洹精舍,至舍利弗所。舍利弗言:于世尊弟子中为神足第一,何不以神足避之?目连曰:我宿业极重,我于神字尚不能忆,况发通耶?我极患疼痛,来辞汝,取般涅槃。舍利弗言:汝今少停,我当先取灭度。舍利弗乃至世尊所辞,去而至本生处,为亲戚乡人说法,遂取灭度。目连亦至世尊所辞,去而至本生处说法,取灭度(增一阿含经十八十九)。时阿阇世王闻梵志打杀目连,极瞋怒。告大臣曰:索彼外道焚杀之。目连闻之,报曰:大王不可作是事,我先作业,注来于身,非可代受。王曰:尊命难违,若捉得当但使出国(毗奈耶杂事十八)。然目连弟子马宿满宿二人,为所谓六群比丘之随一,闻师打杀,愤怒不堪,身毛悉竖,以大力士力,尽捕执杖梵志杀之(戒因缘经二,毗婆沙论四)。时诸苾刍皆有疑,请于世尊言:圣者目连有何业,而外道粉碎其身?世尊曰:往古为婆罗门子,淫溺其妇,于母不孝。一日怒母,发恶语曰:如何得勇力人,打彼身形。依此粗恶语,于五百生中,常被打碎。今日虽证圣道为神通第一,然犹受此报(毗奈耶杂事十八)。又曰:彼昔为弊魔时,数数触娆拘楼孙佛上足弟于尊者毗楼,化作小儿以大杖击彼首,使之流血。即时堕大地狱,以斯宿业,今日为释迦文佛上足,为外道所打杀(魔娆乱经)。

(地名)Mucilinda,又作目邻山。龙王名。取所住之龙王以名山也。玄应音义二十一曰:“目脂邻陀山,旧言目真邻陀,或作牟真邻陀,此云脱也。”慧苑音义下曰:“目真或作牟真此云解脱,是龙名也。邻陀此云处,谓有龙于此窟中因闻法解脱龙苦,故名解脱处窟。”
