鸠垣《佛学大辞典》
(异类)又作鸠洹、仇桓。鬼名。译作大身。玄应音义三曰:“鸠垣,诸经中或作鸠洹。或作仇桓,皆梵言讹也。此译云大身也。”梵Kupana。
鸠夷罗《佛学大辞典》
(动物)Kokila,又作鸠那罗、拘耆那罗、拘耆罗、拘翅罗、拘枳罗、俱系罗、瞿翅罗、瞿师罗、鸲[只*鸟]罗、俱枳罗、瞿枳罗、具史罗等。鸟名。译曰好眼鸟,好声鸟,美音鸟,鸦鸥等。玄应音义五曰:“鸠夷罗,或云居枳罗鸟,此云好声鸟。”同十曰:“拘耆罗。或作拘翅罗。梵音转也。译云好声鸟。此鸟声好而形丑。从声为名也。”同八曰:“拘枳,或名拘翅,或作瞿翅罗,译云鸦鸥鸟。”同七曰:“案中本起经云:瞿师罗者,此译云美音。”慧琳音义十四曰:“俱系罗,旧云俱枳罗,梵语,西国鸟名。此国无。”

鸠摩《佛学大辞典》
(术语)究摩罗浮多Kumāra-bhūta之讹略。译作童真、童相。称八地已上之菩萨。玄应音义三曰:“鸠摩,正言究摩罗浮多。究摩罗者,八岁已上,乃至未娶者之总名也。旧名童子,浮多者,旧译云真,言童真地也。或云实,亦是一义,今当为相,言童相也。经顺俗名,以童标八地已上菩萨也,或云法王子者,别号也。”

鸠摩罗什《佛学大辞典》
(人名)具名鸠摩罗什婆、鸠摩罗时婆、鸠摩罗耆婆。译曰童寿。见“鸠摩罗耆婆”条。罗什父,天竺人,出家至龟玆国,婚于国王之妹,生什。顷之,其母出家,得道果。什年七岁,随母出家,遍游西域,总贯群籍,最善于大乘。时在龟玆,秦主苻坚建元十九年使吕光伐龟玆。获什而还。至凉州,闻苻坚败,因自立。其后,后秦姚兴伐凉降之。什始入长安。兴以国师之礼礼之。仍使入西明阁及逍遥园,译出众经。宣译凡三百八十余卷,秦弘始十一年寂于长安。时晋熙宁五年也。临终曰:吾所传无谬。则梵身之后,舌不焦烂。在逍遥园依外国之法,火化之。薪灭形碎,唯舌不灰,见出三藏记十四,梁高僧传二。

鸠摩罗伽地《佛学大辞典》
(术语)Kumāra-bhūta,又作鸠摩罗浮地,鸠摩罗浮多地。译曰童子地、童真地、童相地等。通为菩萨地之总称,别称初地或八地已上之菩萨。璎珞本业经上曰:“鸠摩罗伽,秦言逆流,欢喜地。”是指初地已上。智度论二十九曰:“鸠摩罗伽地者。或有菩萨,从初发心断淫欲,乃至阿褥多罗三藐三菩提,常行菩萨道,是名鸠摩罗伽地。复次有菩萨作愿,世世童男,出家行道,不受世间爱欲,是名为鸠摩罗伽地。复次又如王子名鸠摩罗伽,佛为法王,菩萨入法王位,乃至十地故。悉名王子,皆住为佛。如文殊师利,十力四无所畏等,悉具佛事故,住鸠摩罗伽地,广度众生。复次,又如童子过四岁已上未满二十,名为鸠摩罗伽地。若菩萨初生菩萨家者,如婴儿,得无生法忍,乃至十住地,离诸恶事,名为鸠摩罗伽地。”此为一切菩萨地之通称。玄应音义三曰:“鸠摩罗伽,正言究摩罗浮多。”见“鸠摩”条。

鸠摩罗炎《佛学大辞典》
(人名)Kumārāyaṇa,天竺人,家世世相国。炎不嗣相位而出家,东度葱岭,至龟玆国。国王敬慕之,迎请为国师。王有妹耆婆Jivā,年始二十,甚为聪明。逼炎妻之。举一子。即鸠摩罗什也。见梁传二(鸠摩罗什传)。
鸠摩罗炎负檀像传震旦《佛学大辞典》
(故事)初优填王以栴檀刻佛像,安置于拘睒弥国。鸠摩罗炎欲负像来此方。路经四国。诸国爱护而不许出国。依本图写,使留其本,至龟玆国,王抑留之,以妹妻之。生罗什。使齎至姚秦。后南宋孝武破秦,迎请此像,还江左,止于龙光寺。世号龙光之瑞像。见资持记下三之二。
鸠摩罗耆婆《佛学大辞典》
(人名)Kumārajiva,又作鸠摩罗时婆、鸠摩罗什婆,罗什三藏之具名。译曰童寿。合取父之名童与母之名寿者。出三藏记十四(罗什传)曰:“什一名鸠摩罗耆婆,外国制名。多以父母为本,什父鸠摩罗炎,母字耆婆,故兼取为名云。”百论疏一曰:“鸠摩罗什者,父名鸠摩罗炎,母曰耆婆,耆婆曰寿,鸠摩罗炎云童,即童寿也。合取父母两称,为儿一名者。风俗异也,正言。父母两称并是美名,欲令儿好,故合字之。”见“鸠摩罗什”条。
