忧陀那《佛学大辞典》
(术语)Udāna,又作优陀那,乌陀南,邬陀南,优檀那,邬驮南,郁陀那等。发语言时喉中之风。智度论六曰:“如人欲语时,口中风出,名优陀那。此风出己,还入至脐,触脐响出,响出时触七处退,是名语言。”

又译曰丹田。圆觉经大钞十一之下曰:“有师言:脐下一寸,名忧陀那,此云丹田。”名义集六曰:“优陀那,天台禅门曰:此云丹田,去脐下二寸半。”

又译曰中。天台之禅门口诀曰:“一脉直往趣脐,号曰优陀那风,优陀那者中也,故号此脉为中脉也。”

又译曰自说。十二部经中之无问自说经。无人问,佛自说法者。俱舍光记一曰:“邬陀南,此云自说。即十二部经中第五,自说经也。无人问佛自说故。若言嗢陀南,此云集散,集散说故;或言集施,集所说义,施有情故。”慧苑音义上曰:“邬驮南,此云无问自说。”玄应音义二十一曰:“邬陀南,此言自说,旧言郁陀那。”同二四曰:“邬陀南旧曰优陀那,自言自说,谓不待请问而自说也,即无问自说经是也。”

又译曰印,标相,总略。一切行无常等之四法印也。瑜伽伦记十一之下曰:“四乌拖南,若作嗢字者,皆须改正,旧语不正。名四优陀那,翻名为印,今翻名说。即世尊常诵说,此义似无问自说,随义傍翻,亦得名印。或名总略义,或名标相,如说无常是有为标相。(中略)涅槃寂静,是无为法标相。若名嗢拖南,则名集施。”大乘义章二曰:“优檀那者,是外国语,此名为印,法相楷定不易之义名印也。”华严经大疏钞十八曰:“优檀那此名标相。”同钞曰:“嗢陀南此云集施,应与邬陀南异。今论亦云嗢陀南,或译之少巧。”同二十二曰:“邬陀南者,旧为优陀那讹也。正翻为说,义当无问自说。”案四法印之颂,亦曰四乌拖南,又曰四嗢拖南。但言乌拖南,则自说或法印之义。言嗢拖那,则集散或集施之义。此中以言乌拖那为本义。
