犍《佛学大辞典》
(术语)截男势也。五种不男之一。或作[利-禾+虔]。玄应音义十四曰:“犍又作[打-丁+虔][利-禾+虔]二形,同居言切。字书犍害也,通俗文以刀去阴曰犍。”
犍不男《佛学大辞典》
(术语)五种不男之一。以刀截去男根者。四分律三十五曰:“犍者,生已都截去作黄门。”行事钞上三曰:“犍作者。”(犍而为黄门者)。法华文句记九上曰:“五不男者,(中略)[利-禾+虔]谓截等。”(作剧误)。唐韵曰:“[利-禾+虔]居言切,音犍,剔也。”犍[利-禾+虔]通用。梵āpatpaṇḍaka Buṇapaṇḍaka。

犍坻《佛学大辞典》
(人名)祇洹精舍奴之字。译曰续。续生之义。本为波斯匿王兄之子,容色美。王之夫人私呼之,欲使从己。犍坻不听。夫人大怒,谗于王。王大怒,节节解体躯,弃于冢间。命未绝顷,佛到其边,光明照身,平复如故。佛为说法。即得第三果。言我身已破,佛续我命。我当尽此形寿,布施于佛及比丘僧,即来祇洹,终身为奴。见智度论八。此续生之名之因缘也。Ghaṇṭin。
犍度《佛学大辞典》
(术语)Skandha,巴Khandha,又作干度。译曰聚,蕴,积,藏,结,节。论律中篇章之名。南山戒疏一下曰:“受法戒法,各别聚处,名为犍度。”法砺四分律疏七本曰:“西音犍度,此方称聚,诸法之中当分说故称为聚,而存梵音总为犍度。”饰宗记七本曰:“西音犍度者,梵音塞犍陀。或云塞犍图,此翻为蕴,蕴即聚也。”玄应音义四曰:“犍度,此言讹也,正音娑犍图,此云聚也。”资持记上一之一曰:“梵语犍度,此云法聚,即篇品之名。”演密钞五曰:“犍度云藏。”

又婆薮槃豆法师传曰:“八伽兰他Grantha,即此间云八干度。伽兰他,译为结,亦曰节。谓义类各相结属,故云结。又摄义令不散,故云结。义类各有分限,故云节。”

(物名)Ghaṇtā,又作犍槌,犍地,犍迟,犍椎。译曰钟,磬,打木,声鸣等。可打而作声之物之通称。大小无别。案椎稚二字,共为写梵音者。故无论用何者,皆无妨。而辨其相违,则椎者,集韵曰:“传追切,音追,通作槌,俗作桘。”椎槌通用也。稚者,广韵曰:“直利切,音治。”然玄应谓经论中用椎或槌字者,总为稚之写误也。元照谓书为椎或槌训为地者本也,书为稚直训为地者,后人妄改也。玄应音义十四曰:“犍椎,椎宜作稚,稚音直致切。”同一曰:“犍椎,椎直追反,经中或作犍迟。案梵本,臂吒犍稚。臂吒此云打,犍稚所打之木,或檀或桐,此无正翻。以彼无钟磬故也,但椎稚相滥,所以为误已久也。”同十六曰:“犍稚直致切,旧经多作犍迟。(中略)今经律多作犍椎误也。”次元照释南山行事钞上之一所谓:“出要律仪,引声论翻:犍(巨寒反)、椎(音地),此名磬,亦名为钟。”(案现本之行事钞此处之椎字作稚据元照之意固作椎)。于行事钞资持记上一之四曰:“若诸律论,并作犍槌,或作犍椎,如字而呼,乃是梵言讹转,唯独声论正其音耳,今须音槌为地。又羯磨疏中,直云犍地,未见稚字呼为地也。后世无知,因此(羯磨疏犍地之文字)一误。于钞文前后以及一宗祖教,凡犍椎字,并改为稚,直呼为地。请寻古本写钞及大藏经律考之,方知其谬。但以稚椎相滥,容致妄改。今须依律论并作犍槌,至呼召时。自从声论,或作椎亦尔。世有不识梵语者,云是打钟之槌及砧槌等,此又不足议也。”然而据南山行事钞(前所引者)。则犍稚虽翻为磬或钟。而据同师之尼钞则谓彼无钟磬,故翻为打木。资持记上一之四曰:“若准尼钞,西传云:时至应臂吒犍槌。臂吒此云打,犍槌此云所打之木,或用檀桐木等。彼无钟磬,故多打木集人。”玄应音义之说(前所引者)亦据之。然元照等疑之。同资持记注曰:“应法师经音义,大同尼钞。然祇桓图中,多明钟磬。而云彼无者,或恐少耳。”名义集七曰:“应法师释云:梵语臂吒,此云打。梵语犍槌,此云所打木。或檀或桐,此无正翻,彼无钟磬故也。音义指归斥云:祇如梵王铸祇桓寺金钟,又迦叶结集挝铜犍槌,岂无钟耶?但天竺未知有磬。五分律云:随有瓦木铜铁鸣者,皆名犍地。”释氏要览下曰:“今详律,但是钟磬、石板、木板、木鱼、砧槌,有声能集众者,皆名犍稚也。”祖庭事苑曰:“犍稚,此翻声鸣。”
