行住坐卧《俗语佛源》
指身体的四种状态。语出佛经,如《本生心地观经·报恩品》:“行住坐卧,受诸苦恼。”戒律谓,出家人的一举一动都要合乎规定,不能草率、任意,称为“四威仪”。佛家还认为,诚意修行的人,无论行住坐卧,都可以用功,都要摄心不乱,念佛不辍。不过,在行住坐卧四种状态中,以坐的状态为最适宜。如明·袁了凡《静坐要诀·豫行》指出:“修行之法,行住坐卧,总当调心。但卧多则昏沉,立多则疲极,行多则纷动,其心难调。坐无此过,所以我用耳。”后亦用行住坐卧泛指一举一动。如《儿女英雄传》第三七回:“你只看那猴儿,无论行住坐卧,他总把个脑袋扎在胸坎子上,倒把脖儿扛起来。”(李明权)
行者《俗语佛源》
梵语(yogin)的意译。乃指观行者,或泛指一般佛法之修行者。又称行人,修行人。也指方丈的侍者,及在寺院服杂役尚未剃发的出家者。如《善见律》云:“‘有善男子欲求出家,未得衣钵,欲依寺中住者,名畔头波罗沙。’今详,若此方行者也。”《观无量寿经》:“读诵大乘,劝进行者。”后欲指出行的人。如清·阎尔梅《渔父辞》:“峒山居者笑行者,我自乘船君乘马。”(文贤)
